Ensenada, Baja California Mexico
The list of broken parts on the Stronghold Motorsports Pro Lite truck and Yamaha YXZ UTV after last weekend’s race would make anyone think that Brandon Arthur ran the Baja 1000 instead of rounds 3 and 4 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at Estero Beach outside Ensenada in Baja, Mexico. Both the truck and UTV ran strong, but contact on the course caused damage that cut a couple of his races short.
Brandon had to overcome some challenges in Estero Beach but he thrives on competition. He had a great race with Myles Cheek and Brock Heger during the UTV race on Saturday.
He started on the pole and ended up with a win for his MAVTV, Stronghold Motorsports, Pro Traffic Services, Toyo Tires, HRT Motorsports, KMC Wheels, Benchmark Performance, Aeromotive Fuel Systems, Magnaflow Exhaust, FOX, Competitive Metals, CBR Performance, Wirefab, Summers Brothers, ECP Powder Coating, F&L Racing Fuels, Maxima Racing Oils, FiberwerX, Heatshield Products, Bink Designs, Redline Performance, Gear 49, Howe Performance, R2C Filters, Baja Designs, Heatwave Visual, Yamaha Racing, bLU cRU, STEEL-IT, and Mob Armorteam.
During the Pro Lite race on Sunday, Brandon was running strong in the top 5 when he spun out; dropping him back a couple spots. He quickly jumped back in the fray but was then pushed out wide in a corner dropping even more positions. Now that he was highly motivated, he put his head down and started picking off competitors on his way to the front. He climbed all the way up to the 8th spot before he ran out of laps. “We hoped for better results but you can’t control everything on the track,” said Brandon, “The safest place to be is out front so we will continue to be up there as much as possible.”
Next on the schedule is Utah Motorsports Campus in Tooele, UT on Jun 24th and 25th. Brandon earned back to back podiums there last season.
